Convenient and crunchy: Vico’s Hula Hoops come in Sonoco’s rigid paperboard containers
The ideal packaging matters: for the ring-shaped Hula Hoops snack, the French brand Vico chose composite cans from Sonoco Europe. With their trendy design, the handy containers stand out at the point of sale (POS). An aluminum inner lining and the reclosable snap lid satisfy consumers’ demand for convenience and freshness.
Snack fans can purchase Vico’s latest creation in all major French supermarkets in a 115-gram composite can. Hula Hoops are available in three popular flavors: Original (salted), Cheese, and Barbecue.
Product presentation dedicated to trend and taste
Hula Hoops attract consumers’ attention at the POS with their package design: Each flavor has its own distinctive color while the reclosable snap lid in classic red echoes Vico’s brand color. The all-around label shows stylized yellow Hula Hoops in motion. “Having a packaging that stands out on the shelf is a crucial advantage. When introducing a new product, it is especially important to attract impulse buyers,” said Séan Cairns, Vice President and General Manager Sonoco Consumer Products Europe. The package style fits the snack’s intended use: on-the-go consumption. More than just a pretty face, the aluminum-lined container also preserves Hula Hoops’ freshness and flavor.
Savory snacks for the European market
The composite cans for Hula Hoops are the latest result of a long and successful cooperation between Sonoco and Vico’s parent company Intersnack. The two companies have worked together for years bringing savory snacks in attractive packaging to several European markets. After the successful introduction of Hula Hoops on the French market in 2016, Vico is already planning to add two new flavors, Bacon and Sour Cream & Onion. Both are very popular choices among snack fans.
